    :::Big smiles:::
    ( but not laughing, I promise...okay, a small giggle )
    Welcome Randy! It is nice to have you join us Country music lovers. I promise, we are not too crazy on this side.
    BTW, in your week long stint into the country music world, have you heard the song by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton? It is a beautiful tribute to the joys of heaven.
    So again, welcome! And don't worry, you will be okay. The light-headedness will pass. : )

    ::: smacking my dizzy forehead ::: I totally heard that song 10 minutes before reading your comment. It is a very good song.

    Country isn't quite what it was... more like rock now. I don't mind it so much anymore since I'm a rock/blues gal. Although... my favorite of all time is Alison Krauss. I agree about the creative side. You're more well-rounded now!

    Ah - Alison Krauss does rock. It is good to find good music. A theme for this upcoming year is to spend time on things that nourish my soul. (And that can include service to others, as well as entertainment choices, etc.) So, I hope that I'll stop to celebrate things like learning to like a familiar / foreign genre of music.
    Bluegrass has caught me while living here in the South - Nickle Creek, Rhonda Vincent, and this fantastic local group called the Lovell Sisters Band. (They can be found on the web.) Actual musicians playing very fast on actual instruments! I love the art of it.

    Ok...now I am reminded why I didn't like country music...some song is playing and the repeated chorus something is, "A Honky Tonk a Donky Donk." "She's got it goin on like Donkey Kong" ... "Shut my mouth and slap your grandma"... "O Lord how'd she get those britches on." "That's why we do what we do...not for the money not for the glory not for the free whiskey...we do it for the donky donk."
    As I am finishing this comment Shania comes on singing "She's not just a pretty face." This is a nice song.
    Now let me say this, I am definitely not a prude. My favorite music is electronica and R&B.; There is some downright not good ( a lot of it) music that I have to change channels on. There is something about a few country songs though that is just "roll your eyes" corny.
    Now some guy is singing about being double XL and making this chirping noise. ::: laughing ::: I should live-blog XM country music channels. When this guy chirps he sounds just like my friends 9 month old. Hilarious.

    BTW Randy, it is Honky Tonk Badonkadonk

    Well ... any more songs like that which get stuck in my head and I will Honky Tonk GetBackTheFunk in my musical selection. :)

    You know as much as I loved the music in Oh Brother, it nearly ruined the movie for me. It was weird for me, having heard Dan Tyminsky's voice before and trying to imagine it's actually George Clooney singing. Bizarre. I'm glad you hang on to the R and others too. IMHO, a real creative doesn't limit themselves to one genre of anything, music or otherwise. Although, I'm a bit biased toward abstract art, so it's not all bad, hmm?
  • Randy · 4 years ago
    NO...not all bad at all. Yeah...George Clooney singing was a bit odd. I like the way you say creatives instead of artists. It reflects the Creator in a different word kind of way.

    On the way to the hospital today, Great Scott and I were discussing your new realm of creative input experimentation. He said to be sure I told you that he gives you five years before you're driving a monster truck with a houn' dawg.

    I very much like the creativity interpretation of your new appreciation. I'd like to think that's why I occasionally play Scott's Bob Dylan CD's, even if he isn't home.

    [...] ry nice Thanksgiving celebration. Tonight I listened to some good music (no not all of it country), did some drawing, rearranged a few things in the casa and then ironed my cloth [...]

    :::with gleeful giggles:::
    And another has crossed over to the country-fied side!
    Welcome friend!
  • Randy · 4 years ago
    Well Mrs. Cindy, ya' see...I done been lookin' for a coupla houn's... fixinto get me a pickemup truck and catch me some dar (translation = deer.) Now, 'bout that Dylan feller...ain't he a hippie?
    Well hello Ms. Kitty Kat...glad to know this sides a friendly to folk like me.
    Ok I am tired of talking/typing like that.
    Natalie, OH...see I have always seen people as artists simply because we bear the image of God. I have a friend who is a TRUE rocket scientist. She is a rocket scientist through and through. She looked at me one time and very sincerely said, "Randy, you know...mathmatics is like poetry...like a song to me." And with complete understanding I said, "I know!" She was so pleased that I agreed with her. After reading Dr. Hugh Ross...who couldn't agree with her?

    LOL, Randy! I never really thought about the word creatives that way. Thinking about it now... anyone can be a creative if the Lord blessed them in that area, but it takes a special discipline to make an artist (which I just never had). :)

    How many of those nicknames do you have for me? With all those personalities mulling around in that head of yours... :)

    As long as Ms. Kitty Kat was endearing I'll keep that one too.
  • Randy · 4 years ago
    My different personalities have different nicknames for you. Ms. Kitty Kat was endearing...not stripping. I like Kat Superfly better too.
  • Rae · 4 years ago
    I like Sara Evans (a former friend introduced her music to me), Dolly Parton, and a few others that I can't seem to remember.

    It's not your fault. You're not alone. :D

    (Remember those 80s commercials?)
