ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected: A Different Kind of Hijacking

I really wonder what goes through peoples minds when they think up these things? Do they really think that Chrsitians would do such a thing? Or do they think its acceptable to portray a group such a way? Its not like this is characteristic of Christians in general. But do they think that it is? They know they couldn't get away with it if they were muslims terrorists. Why did it even have to be a scenario? Why couldn't it just be an angry person who wanted to kill others? I dont know about suing them. But i'm all about the school board members losing their jobs for making such a stupid decision.
Now if "Christians" ever did such a thing (God forbid) then it should be universally condemned by Christians everywhere.

I caught the last part of Jay Sekulow Live and heard about this.
Of course, had they used Muslim terrorists, CAIR would have been all over them, and you can bet there would have been death threats against the school and all involved. I'm sure a lawsuit would have been filed as well.
When you bash Christians, you don't have to worry about violent fallout. When we complain, we'll just be told we're overreacting and to get over it.
Apparently a real event like Beslan doesn't mean anything.

exactly Steve. It's absolutely bizarre. Bully the easy target but get bulldozed into silence by the insanity of Islamofascism.

I agree Burke. There are some murderous, misguided and horrible people who claimed to be Christians throughout history and even some pockets around the world but nothing on such a large scale as Islamofascism and especially not in the United States.

I find it telling that people who hate Christians and Christianity can't really address our actual message and beliefs. Instead, they create this dishonest caricature that makes us easy to dismiss. It basically comes down to the fact that people don't want to deal with the Gospel--big surprise.

Hi Mike, I agree but also have to take ownership as well. It's also up to Christians to remember to be about the business of the Gospel and its application in everything that we do.

We have to be relevant and meet people where they are at but our devotion to Christ should be apparent.
