Well I wasn't really comfortable though out the book with God being a woman. That was sort of confusing to me ,however I guess that is why we must rememeber that it is indeed fiction. Now I liked the way Jesus was protrayed that was neat. I think the Holy Spirit seems somewhat mystic and flowery in the book. I guess I am not sure where the preachy part comes in at ? Maybe I do and I am just not seeing it. :)

I do think that the Body wasn't mention as impoortant in the book. However once again it was a fiction book. Uh-oh prophectic folks don't like it well my pasotr is a prophetic I don't think he has read it yet. I guess I should see what his thoughts on it are. I agree that is for more a mature christian. There were parts of the book that made me just cry and cry.

It really did bring some prespective to some thing in my life. My grandmother gave it to all of us in the family each couple or person a copy of it. She read it and it really helped her with some issues she had with her dad growing up. For me this helped me deal with a lot of grief that I have not been able to let go of when my grandmother passed away three yrs ago. (which reminds me if you have anything on grief that would help I would love to read it )

I liked the book I am not quite done yet but it is really good. It ranks up there with The Divine Romance and Hinds Feet on High Places.

Re: Book Review - The Shack by William P. All the time I reaad it, I kept thinking it needs a study to go along with it. I finally decided God was urging me to write a study which I did. If anyone would like it, email me at prayerdigm.bookstudy@yahoo.com. I would be glad to send you the study. You are welcome to use it and copy it for others.
Trish Pickard

Re: Book Review - The Shack by William P. I was just thinking it would be nice to have a thorough "response" to the Shack out there. Then I had this question pop into my head; Why did a million resources come out about The DaVinci Code and nothing about this? Granted the "Code" was blatant heresy but, where is all of our Christian leaders on this one? Maybe I missed it.

Re: Book Review - The Shack by William P. I too felt the theology of the Trinity a little off especially the equalitarian emphasis in their relationship. I appreciated the process of the character as well. I just felt that it clouded too many theological points and created more questions than answers. My concern is that young believers will take this as truth without questioning and reasoning what they've read.

Re: Book Review - The Shack by William P. The healing process was very interesting and one I could relate to in many spots. The preaching was annoying and came with a warning in my spirit. I heard of a non-believer who read it and felt very affirmed in his new age ideas. So, yes, I too, would only recommend the book for mature believers. My prophet friends hated the book.

Re: Book Review - The Shack by William P.
