My family and I visited my grandparents and cousins a couple of times a year from the 1950's until my grandparents moved to Charlotte in the mid '70's. I remember the day trips to Daytona Beach with nine siblings and cousins crammed into a station wagon and being able to park the car on the beach::: Pause:::: I just remembered that I had a photo of one of those trips! Check it out here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ge_parker/2783402226/

We also would play dodge ball with grapefruits in a grapefruit grove that was near my cousins house.... it's not fun being hit with rotten grapefruit!

Re: Boring Video Update About a Boring Storm … So Far

I really enjoyed Vancouver the time I visited there a couple of years ago. And I also heard that the storm didn't come with as much force as previously thought it would. Glad to see that things are going well. What you showed on your vimeo looks like the rain storms we get in Vancouver which come on a regular basis. We've had thunder and lightning periodically in various locations and it's been hotter then usual. I think Vancouver has had record breaking heat recently. That said, it rains a lot in Van much like in the vimeo although I don't think I can call the rain storms Tropical Storms.

Re: Boring Video Update About a Boring Storm … So Far

Yeah, I heard about the tropical storm all the way from Vancouver BC, Canada. Kind of glad I didn't have to hang on for dear life and really glad it brought back to mind such great memories. They sound like a lot of fun. How old were you?

Re: Boring Video Update About a Boring Storm … So Far

Thanks for the video update! Now I must admit it would be much more interesting to have seen you holding on to the balcony railing for dear life as the wind waved across you like a flag : )... but hey, the sound of falling rain is a welcomed sound is much more interesting than watching my rose bushes slowly turn from yellow to brown! It's nostalgic to here you speak of your location... my grandparents lived in Winterpark, Jupiter, Ft. Myers, Orlando [off Orange Blossom Trail] and Ocoee for several decades. Oh, the memories of loading up in the old Ford station wagon at 1:00/2:00 in the morning and stopping in Jesup, GA for breakfast at Jones' Kitchen then stopping at the A&W; Root Beer drive-in restaurant [in Orlando] to get a gallon of root beer before we went to my grandparents!

Re: Boring Video Update About a Boring Storm … So Far

Well, cool.
