Call + Respond Project to Combat Global Sex Slave Industry

Started by Randy · 9 months ago

The more I dug into the site and when I saw the little girl near the end … my heart breaks. They say there are more slaves in the world today than ever before. I am sitting here not understanding the depth of all the emotions running through my soul right now. [...] ... Continue reading »

  • Randy,
This is an issue that has been on my heart more and more. Ever since watching the modern movie on "Amazing Grace" the abolution of the slave trade in England, by William Wilberforce, and all my heart is wrenched more and more.

I have not followe cs' links, but there are so many varying organizations that work against this booming industry!

My heart breaks and I've begun looking out for signs in my patient load at work, for the possibility of this very thing.

At the end of the movie there's several links and organizations that joined the fight which appear quite good. Here's a link: http://www.amazinggracemovie.com/partnerships.php theamazingchange.com is down right now, but was a good place for info (it's being reformatted/or what not).

These souls are so dear to our Lord Jesus and I yearn for their deliverance from sexual bondage even as the others we work with! Their deliverance from eternal death to eternal life is a huge need as well, and I'm thankful several Christian organizations are working toward this very end.

    Blessings!
    ChaplainChas.
  • Thanks for the info Chas. The above links are for legalizing prostitution or something. Thank you for adding links that are actually helpful :).

I met one of the producers for Amazing Grace but sadly haven't seen the movie yet. I must remedy that soon.
  • Most of the propaganda re "sex slaves" comes from moralistic organisations quite happy to ignore the existence of migrant sex workers and to override sex workers' human rights to further their own political agenda. For more balanced information, see organisations like Empower, or the DSMC, or e.g.

  • So ... you believe it is ok to sell children into sex slavery? Why would we need "balanced" information regarding the sex slave industry?

Personally I am glad for moralistic organizations that are out to stop child sexual abuse.
  • Laying Aside the fact that I don't think it's right to label prostitution as a "human right":

The links you've provided do not address sex *slavery.* They address voluntary prostitution. Call+Response (and other "moralistic organisations") are attempting to combat the kidnapping, enslavement, and consequent use and abuse by the global sex industry of young women and children, usually taken out of extreme poverty in the third world for the pleasure of rich westerners. They are not working in brothels voluntarily. They are not allowed to insist that their customers use condoms. They are often purposefully addicted to drugs by their captors or otherwise prevented from leaving via physiological means (like slitting and achilles tendon). They often are underage, sometimes far underage. And of course: they are SLAVES.

But, Focus on the Family, that awful, moralistic organization, opposes sex slavery, so sex slavery must be ok.
