    Hey Randy,

I only see 28 comments on that post from home. Would you kindly ask Christian send me a screenshot and which browser he is using to help@disqus.com.

    Cheers,

    Giannii

I am the one catching the discrepency. Not sure how you got that "Christian" was catching it. I am using Firefox. Now the home page matches the disqus count but if you look in my sidebar it shows that the "Michael Jackson Became a Christian Before Dying" post now has 168 comments. And there is literally 168 comments sitting in my comment Database within wordpress ... and I am not putting them there and neither are my users. They are the 28 comments randomly duplicated, triplicated and multiple times duplicated.

Above it says "Christian says it has 139 comments on the “Home” blog page but the actual page itself has 28.".

Have you installed any new plugins recently?

Can you email me your error log and an export of your database to help@disqus.com.

Actually it says, "Right now the MJ post on his becoming a Christian says it has 139 comments on the “Home” blog page but the actual page itself has 28." I can now kind of see where you got that but that isn't the point. I don't have an error log and I have emailed you screen captures I thought adequately exposed the problem. Disqus has some sort of synching problem creating multiple copies of one comment OR a cookie problem that just hold all the comments and republishes each one every time a new comment comes along. That's my guess.

Exporting my comments is a LOT of comments and I don't know what that would show you that I haven't already explained in those screen captures.

I don't want to be a pain in the ass and I certainly don't want you to think I hate disqus. I love it... I just don't want my WP database bloated with an ever increasing amount of comments that are dozens of copies of just one comment.

    Randy,

(laughing at self) You're right, I think it's that time in the day when I need a cup of caffeine. Sorry about that it has been a long day for me. *shrug*

I never did get that error log. =/ Have you changed anything on your site recently? Updated a plugin? Installed a new plugin? I'm not seeing the duplication on our end.

I was asking for your export do I can see the duplication and if anything has changed.

    Hey Giannii,

I give up. Right after your last comment another 40 (approx) MORE comments were added to that one post that were just more copies of existing posts. I just spent a half hour cleaning out hundreds (on more than one post) of out of control automated copying of comments.

Again, I don't want to be an jerk but I don't have time to troubleshoot and fix all of that.

    Randy,

I don't think your being a jerk but I can't help ya if you do not send me the things I need to fix this =/ It's something I've not ever seen before and I just need to play Sherlock Holmes for a couples minutes with your error log and wp database. I see Disqus has been removed from your site and hope to see you back soon.

    Happy 4th,

    Giannii
