Thanks for the follow up Randy. I think it's embarrassing that the bill that was signed ended up being over 450 pages, when it started at 3.5. Congress and the lobbyists seeking opportunist earmarks during a time like this should be ashamed.

I just heard from my friend C. in DC ... and here is her response to your question ...

I believe that Barney Frank let the "cat out of the bag" today on the House floor (or it was during an interview?). I am trying to get the transcript. ...

He said the funds for ACORN were taken out, BUT he tripped up and said something about some of the "other groups" were not affected. (Not affected?!?) Red flag to me. ESPECIALLY because Barney Frank and Rahm Emanuel negotiated much of the bill . (Ram is an IL Dem; former fund-raiser for the same Chicago "Daley machine" that trained Obama; ruthless, hard-core liberal; on the Ways & Means Comm (hands on the "pocketbook")). I have a gut feel that they did a "work around" to get the money BACK to ACORN.

EVERYONE was talking about this today. Even my neighbor, Metallica Man, mentioned it the first thing out of his mouth as I walked toward my front door. His most frequent word in the exchange was the f* bomb.

I haven't been staying updated, does anyone know if the clause for 20% of recovered funds to go to ACORN stayed in the bill? That alone would be reason label it a partisan bill. They're basically a corrupt, liberal special interest group. That Obama used to be a lobbyist for.

Sigh. BIG SIGH. Just say no. No bail out at my expense, please. Especially when one party is trying to drag the other party on board, labeling it bi-partisanship, when in fact it's a big ol' case of CYA just in case the bail out doesn't work . . . so the party dragged on board can be blamed. I don't want to "buy-in" or bail out. I'm calling my elected officials today urging them to refuse to buy in.
