Well, I for one love Halloween (and I'm going to Caltech tomorrow so I'm really excited, I'll report back if they live up to their Halloween rep). I think it's mainly because I love history and it's a great excuse to walk out of your house dressed up like a historical character.

I hope you will post a picture.

I will if I can bring a camera...they might not do anything really exciting until the night, though (when Dabney House drops pumpkins frozen in liquid nitrogen off the roof of the library hoping to create triboluminescent sparks).

Oddly ... I find that inspiring.

::: laugh ::: that is true. They love the payoff.

Well, the import worked but didn't. I knew there would be problems with the disqus threading surviving the import. It didn't and the comments that threaded off of original comments are not showing. I have a support ticket in to Intense Debate. Other than that, we are all moved in and set up. :).

What's actually weird is that my first comment is missing...What it said was that I'm excited about being at Caltech on Halloween. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring my camera :(

But I have so far seen a guy wearing a tie-dye jumpsuit, and pink with silver glitter fairy wings, carrying a giant rainbow colored umbrella :-) (no, I'm not making that up!).
  • Randy · 1 year ago
    No... I see it http://randythomas.org/2008/10/30/halloevilweenie...

That rainbow ... person ... sounds very into it. :-)

I don't see it, and I don't see your reply to it. It seems like this system just randomly chose disqus comments to import or something.

I have to work now, I'll start my thorough investigation when I get home...

Halloween's always been fun...costumes and candy, does it get any better? Now that my kiddo is grown I love seeing the new batch of little bitties come toddling up to our door, proud and protective parents hovering at the edge of the porch coaching them to say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank You" while the kiddies eyes fix firmly on the candy basket. Now that's focus!

I saw him again later and he added a halo made out of that wire wrapped in multi-colored foil stars.

Plus I saw a guy dressed up like Santa Clause.

Those were the two coolest I saw. It probably gets cooler at night when they have the pumpkin drop.
  • Randy · 1 year ago
That pumpkin drop sounds like so much fun. Seriously fun.

Well, our first comments came back, but the ID ones left. There's something ironic about that.

Does anyone else get amused if they think of it like the 'Trick" part of Halloween? :)...Obviously it's some form of database reversion.
  • Randy · 1 year ago
    oddly ... I am not amused :)

If I was the one having to deal with trying to fix it directly, I'm sure I wouldn't be either.
