I really needed to read this beautiful "story". And I say it's a beautiful story because no matter what struggle, temptation, battle or inner strife, the Lord, Who humbles Himself to consider the Earth humbles Himself to care about a guy who is hiding within himself and from others. This has not been a good day for me. Today was an extreme "Fred" day for me, [now yesterday]. Was "Fred" able to accept the fact that people loved and cared for him? It looks as if Proverbs 16:9 work itself out in your life and Fred's!

The Lord is beautiful. I would absolutely agree.

I might talk about Fred but I can't really speak for whether he was able to receive what happened today. A lot of people have been reaching out to him for a while now so I think it is safe to say that "receiving" from us is an off and on thing for him.

Sorry you have had such a difficult day.

    Thank you, brother.

Thank you for checking in on 'Fred'. God never gives up on us and will never give up on 'Fred'.
I don't know much about what it takes for any 'Fred' to recover and truly find the freedom and peace from the substance abuse, but I pray really hard that your 'Fred' will find freedom that can be his.
I'm starting to listen to an audio book I purchased yesterday called "Don't Live A Wasted Life" by John Piper. I can only hope and pray that your 'Fred' will awaken to the life that God wants to give him....

I went to John Piper Ministries and I believe the above book mentioned is:
"Don't Waste Your Life". It is available free by *pdf here: http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Onli...
Thanks for the info, it looks very good!

    AWESOME BOOK!

Thanks for sharing about your willingness, and even obedience in changing YOUR plans in order to obey GOD's plans.

His ways are not mine! ...but I must needs remember, they are the Best Ways.

    Blessings!

To Silversurferswave and Susan, your comments are piercing, which is a good but painful thing. Randy is a good man and as many times as I have tried to 'hide' from him and others .. God always thwarts my plans (aarggh!). I'm grateful for your comments .. they do mean a lot. So ... the guy in the cranes roost video is me (coming out of hiding), Bless you, especially Susan (she is valuable and absolutely precious). I don't know what the next 9 months hold in store for me (rehab) but ... I'll hold on to hope.

    Hi Blaine!

Blaine, I know if we commit ourselves to the Lord, He will do and be all that we need. Nov. 2007 I stopped hiding my 21-year addiction to SS pornography by confessing and confiding in my wife, pastor and eventually close friends. I then sought out a local Exodus ministry where I've gone to counseling since March. However in the last week or so, I've completely lost the fight and given in to temptation and I feel like @#%*!. That said, though I feel like the biggest loser or God's brilliant mistake, I know His word says differently. We have to do what is necessary for our healing. For myself, I will be deleting my blog and dismantle my desktop and toss out all my computer parts and paraphernalia. I will start attending group sessions in Sept. This is all I know to do, right now. I understand addiction. It's been a cruel heavy-fisted taskmaster. But I hope in the Master, Jesus Christ. I will be supporting you in prayer [seriously]. Thanks for the dialog, Randy.
