ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected: My Brain & Your Comments - Housekeeping Thread

I drafted this a couple of hours before it was scheduled to publish so an update is in order. My medicine workd and now it is 12:06 am and I am wide awake.

    ::: sigh :::

So, what do you think about Intense Debate vs. Disqus?

Do what works for you, and we'll figure it out. Or, in my case due to terminal blondeness, I will flub up and you, the dear moderator, will tell me how to make it work. Migraines suck. Thank God for pharmaceuticals, they've kept me from purchasing some of the Acme gadgets Wile E. Coyote uses to solve my headache woes. ;D

Wile E. is hilarious. Thanks for the input :).

I'm a semi-un-frequent commenter, a regular reader, a Wordpress user, and a Professional Geek; and I'm confused at what I'm reading above.

Granted, I don't get a lot of the hate traffic you do, Randy. But I don't know if adding "extra protection" is the way to go.

But one thing I do agree, headaches suck.
  • Randy · 1 year ago
Frequent or not, I like it when you visit.

It's a new service with fun bells and whistles that will eventually absorbed into Wordpress. Disqus is always going to be third party and doesn't have all the bells and whistles. My concern is that the threaded comments in disqus will be rendered "flat" if imported into the Intense Debate structure.

I can't quite make out whether or not it's rendered flat in order...if it at least maintains this top down order with the flattened comments, that's good enough for me.
  • Randy · 1 year ago
oh and thinks for the empathy on the headache.

Not as confused as Jeremy, I suppose.

None of my responses are particularly important, so if they get lost, such is life! It would not be the first time, either...

    Go with your gut.

    Whatchootalkin'bout C?

All your responses are important and I know they won't be lost. It's the threading of comments (like what I am doing right now in responding to you and not creating a brand new comment) I am afraid will not make the transition.

Choose whichever one has the better editing option. Didn't you just know I was gonna say that?
  • Randy · 1 year ago
    Yah... I had a feeling :)
  • B.T.Carolus · 1 year ago
On second thought: I love Disqus, don't ever change!
  • Randy · 1 year ago
;) well... I haven't gotten my invite code from Intense debate yet. I haven't had the choice to change over yet.

    We will see :).
