That picture looks like some of the stuff I have seen at MOCA (the Museum of Contemporary Art). I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. hmmm.
I am sure you saw something like that as contemporary art. I thought it was great grungy texture and am tempted to play around with it in my photo software. It's a good thing if it is appreciated for what it is ... unique random textures symbolic of the destruction of vanity :). It is a bad thing when artists get all artsnobbish about it.
I tried the funky roto cutter.
I tred the gooey roll on blue stuff.
I tried water and a sponge.
I combined the above 3 methods in every way known to man.
Suffice it to say my house will have NO wallpaper in it. Just paint applied in different techniques. The beauty of paint is that YOU NEVER HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF. I'll be back at it tomorrow... pray for me :D
I'll pray for you... and you pray for us ... k? :) good to see you Matt.

Failure. Utter failure.
You have a gift for finding or making humor in frustrating situations. Just one of the many things I appreciate about you.
