Rocker Chick K Got My Hair Did

Started by Randy · 7 months ago

Today I went and got my hair cut by Rocker Chick K. I started going to her when she was first starting out as the hair designer extraordinaire of North Orlando. She wasn’t called an intern but it was something like that. I can’t remember what her exact title was but it was a ... Continue reading »

  • Well, every Wednesday night I require a fast but well proteined dinner in order to be on the ball for the intensity of my Wednesday night gig. There is a Subway restaurant on my trail between gigs and I stop there for a tuna sandwich. A lovely older Asian couple own the Subway. I get such a warm greeting every week when I come in. I don't have to tell them how I like my sandwich. They begin preparing it when I walk in the door. And, they take an interest in my day while preparing my sandwich. AND, their restaurant is BY FAR the cleanest Subway I have ever seen. I really enjoy them and look forward to that part of my week.
  • awesome! I love these kind of stories. People rarely share them but they always reveal more about your friends as well :).
  • I have an appointment every Saturday at Granny's Kitchen in town. When I speak of town, I'm referring to my 1500 population hometown. This is a time for me to just chill by myself and enjoy granny's company. I'm greeted with a big hug and a hello sweetie, are you having your usual. My usual consist of 2 scrabbled eggs, home fried potatoes with onions, biscuit with gravy, a side of honey, and coffee. yum... That sounds good this morning. For a long time I left in my heart that this was a ministry for me. One morning I went in a little discouraged and when she saw me, she ran over to give me a hug and that's when it hit me. The Lord has place my Saturday mornings to be a blessing to me as well. He knows all. :)

Randy and Rocker Chic K ~ I can totally hear your conversation... lovin' that you're so real with people.

I'll need to think about that 'community' thing... but I'm loving some new neighbors. "Chip" loves fellowship (and is going to love Jesus, too...). Oh, and a soon-to-be Army Chaplain is in my development, too.

Nothing regular going on with either, but we're working on it.

    Blessings!

  • Love this! My hairdresser and I talk about everything from television preachers to renegade hair color mistakes which turned a long-time client smurf blue! It is a top o' the list destination for me.

Community is undergoing some change of late. Right now, I am getting used to having neighbors who are neighborly. We talk about food and family and yards and they always ask how my husband and I are doing....and about Mom. My nextdoor neighbor, Dow, hollered across the yard and hubby and me about PDA when we hugged!

  • Smurf blue?! ... wow.

Awwwww....that's cute about your neighbors. How is your community changing? New development? Wal Mart taking over small town America?

Wiccans invade the Southern Baptist Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday nights? I can go on all day with this you know ...

  • Sounds very warm and comforting. You should blog about your small town, the good, bad, ugly, wonderful. People love small town stories.

  • I do like to engage folks in conversation when face to face. She and I do talk about other more serious issues but this time around ... alllll silly stuff.
  • Oh... and it is your homework assignment to report back on how you interact with your community on a regular basis (if I can be so bold to assign homework.) Everyone does it at some level.

Even you Northeastern big city folk.
