ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - An ETC Movie Review

Yes Yes, I felt that Peter needed more air support as well. He had air superiority, he barely used it.

Narnia is a quagmire, we should pull out now!

What the heck do you call the Nazgul?!?! Infantry?!? Hmph!
And I liked the cheetahs right where they were!
    Double Hmph!
And the centaur who fought two-handed absolutely rocked. Oh yeah.
    Cindy
P.S. Jeremy, I just realized something, though. :::grin sneaking into corners of mouth and tiny eyebrow quirk::: If I had any "cheatas" on my side, I'd probably put them in the front ranks, too. It could save potential litigation. :D

You know, Randy, I didn't like it very much. Well, I liked it O.K. until the whole battle scene started and then it felt like a LOTR mimicry. Perhaps I am epic'd out?
  • Jeremy · 3 years ago
My only issue in the battle was the tactics.
No one starts with Cheatas in the front ranks, you use those as calvary! CALVARY!
And I would have let fly with the archers WAY sooner.
    *disappointed in Peter's war strategy*
We need to pull out of Narnia this instant!
  • Randy · 3 years ago
I don't know there Jeremy, those flying furry birds with Lion's tails dropping boulders was a pretty smooth move.
Hmmmmm...on the LOTR tip thing...notice that only the forces of good had an air assault in both movies?

Rae, I think I can understand. I noticed that the credits listed WETA workshop as helping with the animatronics and whatever. I noticed that the battle sounds (clashing) was very much the same as LOTR. Actually a lot of the choreography was the same too.

OH yeah, the Nazgul... forgot about them.

Those Centaurs did rock the Catspaw. Heh...get it? "Cats"paw? Nevermind.
  • Jeremy · 3 years ago
Okay, I stand corrected. Cheetahs belong in the calvary, not the light brigade front line.

Centaurs, however, are fine front line light infantry.
  • Randy · 3 years ago
HA! I finally get it. No Jeremy! We can't cut and run!

OH please. Stop this nah nah nee boo boo filiblustery wah wah. Narnia is safer from the White Witches weapons of staff destruction because of the actions of Peter as guided by the Cat. This policy of appeasement is not helpful to our troops or to the liberation of Narnia. Direct your patriotism toward something productive, not partisan.

    Doh!
  • Jeremy · 3 years ago
I'm offended that Randy is questioning my patriotism.

I'm simply wanting Peter and the Pevensie administration to address the issue of a Narnian Exit Strategy.

This has clearly been a war for Magic. And while we were promised a democracy, Peter and his clan have instituted nothing more than a tyranical oligarchy.

We need to get out of Narnia immediately.

Safer? (spoiler alert) - if we would have left Narnia alone, there would not be a telemarine presence terrorizing the peoples of Narnia. We have made Narnia a hotbed for Telemarine oppression!

The Telemarines will leave the Narnians alone only if we pull out immediately. (and stop the needless abuse of using Cheetahs as front line cannon fodder)
  • Randy · 3 years ago
Sorry bub. I am stickin' with the Cat and if he put silly Peter in charge, I will continue to support our troops. We don't win if we don't finish.

    So there!
